Book a Family TourLake Travis is one of the best spots in Texas for a real family day on the water. The lake is wide, clear, and deep, calm enough for young kids but exciting enough to keep everyone happy. Whether it's floating in a quiet cove, tubing behind the boat, or just sitting on deck watching the Hill Country go by, there's something for everyone.
Texas Forever Charters is a family-owned and operated business. Captain DJ and Captain Dane have been on this lake for years, and they're genuinely good with all ages of guests. Kids feel at ease, parents can actually relax, and everyone gets off the boat with a story to tell.
For family outings, we recommend the 24ft Bentley Navigator 243 pontoon. It's stable, spacious, and comfortable, no one feels cramped, and it's easy to move around on deck. The low deck makes it simple for kids to get in and out of the water, and the pontoon handles calm coves and shallow areas that bigger boats can't reach.
The Bentley holds up to 13 guests and handles tubing, float mats, and relaxed afternoon cruises with ease. Captain Dane and Captain DJ both run the pontoon and bring the same energy and local knowledge they bring to every charter.
Family charters on Lake Travis typically run 2–4 hours, though full-day options are available. Most families anchor in a calm cove, often in the Devil's Cove area, where kids can swim and float while parents unwind on deck. The water is warm from late spring through early fall.
Volente Beach Waterpark & Resort, our departure point, has food, facilities, and its own beach area if you want to extend the day. It's a great spot to arrive early or hang out after the charter wraps up.
